BASIS and DIU Hold Strategic Meeting to Strengthen Industry–Academia Collaboration

A collaborative meeting was successfully held on Sunday, 15 February 2026, at the BASIS Boardroom between Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services

(BASIS) and Daffodil International University (DIU) to explore strategic partnership opportunities with DIU’s Career Development Center (CDC).

The session was chaired by Md. Rowshan Kamal James, HR Board Sub-Committee Member & Associate Committee Member of BASIS. The meeting was also attended by

Nadim Majid, Associate Committee Member of BASIS, alongside respected representatives from DIU including 
Sheak Rashed Haider Noori (Head, CSE), 
Md. Mizanur Rahman

(Director, CDC), Sheikh Tonmoy (Assistant Director, CDC), and Hasanuzzaman (Administrative Officer, CDC).

The discussion emphasized the importance of building a structured talent pipeline between academia and industry. Key focus areas included expanding internship and apprenticeship programs for students, launching joint skill development and certification initiatives, facilitating expert nomination from industry to support academic activities, and strengthening curriculum advisory collaboration aligned with evolving industry demands.
 
Both parties expressed strong interest in fostering long-term cooperation aimed at enhancing graduate employability, bridging the skills gap, and contributing to the sustainable growth of Bangladesh’s ICT sector.
 
The meeting marks a significant step toward deepening industry–academia engagement and reinforcing DIU’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates equipped for the future digital economy. 🚀
